Good run this morning

Got to the top of the hill and the dog wussed out on me so I turned around and took her home. Back up the hill, through the very hilly subdivision next door to the new park, left on the trail through the woods (lovely and dark but not so deep) and across the parking lot then through the new subdivision (just roads, no houses yet) and back to home turf with an extra loop at the top of the road.

I’m enjoying the outdoor runs. Temps are crossing 100 during the day but at 6:30am it’s lovely out.

Baen Free Library

I just found the Baen Free Library.  How did I not know about this?

New park opened today

The new park opened just a mile or so away. There’s a fenced area for the dogs and a not finished fitness trail. The dogs are tired and so am I.

Tom Ehrich asks if we really live like Christians

What he said.

Note: I should add that I’m an atheist but every time I read about Jesus I seem to get the same message Tom did while most “Christians” seem to get the message that God is on their side so they can do whatever they want.

I do not fear death

I do not fear death. I know it is coming, and I do not fear it, because I believe there is nothing on the other side of death to fear. I hope to be spared as much pain as possible on the approach path. I was perfectly content before I was born, and I think of death as the same state. I am grateful for the gifts of intelligence, love, wonder and laughter. You can’t say it wasn’t interesting. My lifetime’s memories are what I have brought home from the trip. I will require them for eternity no more than that little souvenir of the Eiffel Tower I brought home from Paris.

To blog or not to blog…

So. I really just want to keep a bunch of notes and links. I don’t really want an online journal or to generate any content beyond my notes.

But the wiki is pretty ugly and WordPress is really slick and pretty now.

Maybe I’ll just do both for a while and see which works out.

Hello world!

So… I may or may not have a blog again.  Still deciding. WordPress is really pretty now. Much more polished than it used to be and it was pretty good then (2-3 years ago?).

Ran for the second time today. Got a wild hair and took the dog (Angel, not Godiva) on an actual out-of-doors run.  My left knee is not happy about this. My second run of the day, the first being at 3am when I couldn’t sleep.

Speaking of which. I’m going to bed now.
